As the Yankees are swinging for the fences in the Bronx this October, Raphaelson & Levine has been fighting for justice in the heart of midtown. Justice came to the plate and batted a perfect 1.000, scoring two victories for injury victims and sending negligent landlords and reckless drivers back to the dugout.
Case Result: $175K Award for Pedestrian Accident Victim
A woman was struck by a turning vehicle from AAA. Through discovery, we uncovered a video depicting the collision. It was violent and demonstrated the force applied to our client a pedestrian. She sustained a knee tear which required arthroscopic surgery. We recovered $175k in the Bronx Supreme Court.
Case Result: $300K Award for Ceiling Collapse Victim
In a second matter mediated at National Arbitration and Mediation, our client was injured when her bathroom ceiling collapsed while she was showering. For years she had made complaints to her landlord about her leaky section 8 housing residence, and for years she was ignored and minimal patchwork was done.
Having never gotten to the root of the leak, predictably, the ceiling failed and collapsed, striking her. The accident resulted in injury to her neck back and shoulder, requiring shoulder surgery. Interestingly, she had a 15-year prior history of medical complaints to these body parts and had been in multiple prior personal injury claims. The greedy property owner tried to insinuate that the victim was looking for lawsuits. This couldn’t have been farther from the truth.

We zealously fought for our deserving, and unlucky when it comes to accidents, the client. Hopefully, drivers will recognize it is much easier to pay attention then be staring down a pregame table lawsuit. As to the greedy property owner, had they just fixed the leak one time this incident would be totally preventable. Unfortunately, property owners all too often have profits over safety attitude. These results should teach them a lesson and put them in the red! Justice prevailed, clients received well-deserved compensation and the Yankees won!Justice prevailed, clients received well-deserved compensation and the Yankees won!
