$2.4M Scaffolding Accident Settlement
Our client, a union bricklayer, suffered extensive injuries in an accident occurring at PS 96 in the Bronx. A large and unsecured container full of concrete rocks fell five stories and landed on the scaffolding where he was working. Although the container missed hitting our client directly, it sent him flying into the air and caused him to land back on the scaffolding and suffer numerous serious injuries. He immediately underwent shoulder surgery, the first of several procedures.
Because our client suffers from a pre-existing blood condition, surgery can be extremely dangerous for him. He spent several days in the hospital after the shoulder surgery where his doctor determined that the risk of future surgeries was too great considering his blood condition. The personal injury lawyers at Raphaelson & Levine secured a $2.4 million dollar settlement for our client at mediation.
