$1.5M Scaffolding Accident Settlement
A mason and shop steward in New York City suffered devastating injuries due to statutory violations and negligence by the defendant. His injuries occurred after falling 25 feet from the scaffold to a pile of debris lying beneath him on the ground. The scaffolding lacked guardrails and had unsecured planking that was missing or gapped in some areas. A safety arrest system and toe boards were also missing.
This negligence caused our client to fall through the scaffolding and sustain significant injuries to both shoulders, both knees, and his back. He required arthroscopic surgery to repair the damage to his knees and shoulders. The case went through mediation and settled for $1.5 million dollars.
